Join the TUWC as we wage a War on Christmas – not really but we are declaring war on public enemy #1 the Eastern Red Cedar. These invasive trees that people love to think of as a Christmas Tree in the Wild are actually a highly flammable invasive native tree in Oklahoma and help Lone Star Ticks thrive so winter is the perfect time to eliminate them from the trails!

Come Out and lend a hand as we see how many of these villains we can fell!

Meet us at the Herman and Kate Kaiser YMCA at Turkey Mountain, 9am–Noon, for a morning of giving these trails some well-earned TLC.

We’ll be tackling invasive species, trimming back overgrown limbs, and shoring up trail surfaces — the unglamorous work that keeps Turkey Mountain wild and sustainable for everyone who loves it.

This workday is well-suited for both returning volunteers and first-timers who want to learn more about invasive species management and hands-on stewardship. TUWC will provide guidance on identification, removal techniques, and why this work matters beyond a single trail corridor.

The Herman and Kate Kaiser YMCA is situated on the Northern side of Turkey Mountain, sharing a border with Mooser Creek and Pepsi Pond. In years past the TUWC has hosted many fun work days here and we look forward to the chance to do this again! Come join us!

Join the TUWC at the Circle Cinema for a special viewing of Granite Rapids Moon. This fundraiser for the TUWC and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to our organization.

Synopsis

Shot with only the equipment that a cast and crew of eight could carry on two 41-mile hikes (one in 20-degree December and the other in 95-degree June), this family-friendly romantic drama is the first narrative feature to shoot the majority of its footage inside the rim of the Grand Canyon.The movie contains no nudity, sex, guns, violence, drugs, tobacco, or strong profanity. 

Granite Rapids Moon stars Brit Morgan, John Charles Meyer, Susan Papa, Etienne Eckert, Micah Cohen, KylieRae Condon, and Missi Pyle. The film was written and directed by Kenneth Cran, and produced by John Charles Meyer and Susan Papa.
