Monarchs on The Mountain

A Tulsa Migration Celebration hosted by Chandler Park.

The Monarchs on The Mountain festival takes place each fall during the annual migration season of monarch butterflies as the pass through Oklahoma to head south for the winter. There will be food, fun, and educational opportunities of children and adults alike. Learn from guest speakers about monarch conservation efforts, buy your local milkweed plants, and get to know organizations supporting this cause by visiting information booths across the event.  

September 19, 2026 Event Details

  • 9:00AM- 11th Annual Monarchs on the Mountain begins, all booths and vendors open
  • 9:15AM- Event Welcome by Steering Committee (Event Lawn)
  • 9:30AM- Commemorative Painting Reveal by Martha Highland (Event Lawn)
  • 945AM- Proclamation read by Tulsa County District 2 Commissioner, Lonnie Sims with Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma and Chandler Park’s Nature & Science students (Event Lawn)
  • 10AM- Monarch tagging demonstration presented by Tom Clark, supported by The Euchee Butterfly Farm (Event Lawn)
  • 10:45AM- First Door Prize Drawing (Event Lawn)
  • 11:15AM- Second Door Prize Drawing (Event Lawn)
  • 11:30AM- Guest Presentation by Dr. Priscilla Crawford (Community Center, Reception Room)
  • 12:30PM- Third Door Prize Drawing (Event Lawn)
  • 1:00PM- Grand Door Prize Drawing and 11th Annual Monarchs on the Mountain closes
