A Tulsa Migration Celebration hosted by Chandler Park.
The Monarchs on The Mountain festival takes place each fall during the annual migration season of monarch butterflies as the pass through Oklahoma to head south for the winter. There will be food, fun, and educational opportunities of children and adults alike. Learn from guest speakers about monarch conservation efforts, buy your local milkweed plants, and get to know organizations supporting this cause by visiting information booths across the event.

- 9:00AM- 11th Annual Monarchs on the Mountain begins, all booths and vendors open
- 9:15AM- Event Welcome by Steering Committee (Event Lawn)
- 9:30AM- Commemorative Painting Reveal by Martha Highland (Event Lawn)
- 945AM- Proclamation read by Tulsa County District 2 Commissioner, Lonnie Sims with Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma and Chandler Park’s Nature & Science students (Event Lawn)
- 10AM- Monarch tagging demonstration presented by Tom Clark, supported by The Euchee Butterfly Farm (Event Lawn)
- 10:45AM- First Door Prize Drawing (Event Lawn)
- 11:15AM- Second Door Prize Drawing (Event Lawn)
- 11:30AM- Guest Presentation by Dr. Priscilla Crawford (Community Center, Reception Room)
- 12:30PM- Third Door Prize Drawing (Event Lawn)

Priscilla Crawford has been exploring Oklahoma’s biodiversity for over 25 years. Coming to Oklahoma to study grasslands at the University of Oklahoma, she soon found out that there was much more to Oklahoma than prairie! In 2002, she completed her M.S. researching the mesquite grasslands of southwestern Oklahoma. She went on to study Oklahoma’s biogeography and ecology for her doctorate. Working at the Oklahoma Biological Survey for the past 19 years, she has pursued projects across all of the state’s ecoregions – surveying endangered birds, looking for invasive aquatic plants, measuring trees of the Ozark forests, collecting data on mesquite grasslands, restoring biodiversity to degraded systems, and more. This book is an extension of her work organizing BioBlitz! OK for 15 years. Her career has focused on introducing people to the amazing ecosystems and organisms of the state and celebrating Oklahoma’s natural diversity.
